Dvůr Králové Zoo is a 72 hectares  park located in Labem home to about 2700 animals of 300 different species. The zoo is mainly focused in African theme, so their collection includes animals such as black rhinos, giraffes, zebras... It is member of the Czech and Slovak Union of Zoological Gardens (UCSZ), founded in 1990, and was part of EAZA and WAZA till 2010 and 2012 respectively. Their first group of gorillas arrived in 1974 directly from Africa and they were a family of six western lowland gorillas, four females and two males: Sarah, Messy, Minouche, Sabina, Doudou and Tadao.
