Located in the south of Italy in Fasano, Zoosafari Fasanolandia was opened on July 25th 1973 and is home to 1700 animals of 200 different species. The total area is about 140 hectares, where they keep animals such as dolphins, reptiles, bears, jaguars or giraffes and an amusement park. Their first and only gorillas arrived to Fasano in May 1994; they were Rivi and Pedro, two male gorillas that had been living on a circus the last years of their lifes. In 2008, Pedro died and Rivi remained alone till our days.
