Zoo Praha logo 2012

Prague Zoo was opened in September 1931and is located at Praha Troy. Their exhibits are close imitations to the natural environment of the animals, which are about 5300 of 670 different species, including komodo dragons, przewalski horses, elephants, lions, giraffes, penguins...and many of them are included in the European Endangered Species Programme. They are also members of WAZA, EAZA, EARAZA, WWT...and is the official rescue zoo for the abandoned CITES animals. Their first gorilla was a young male called Titan that arrived from Cameroon in 1963, and Moja, born in December 2004 to mother Kijivu and currently at Cabarceno, was their first baby gorilla to born at the zoo.
