Located in Stuttgart and inaugurated in 1853, Zoologisch-Botanischer Garten Wilhelma is a big zoo with an area of 30 hectares that keeps 10.000 animals of 1150 different species including aviary, aquarium, apes, marine mammals and other land animals. This zoo is very well known because they have a great experience on caring hand reared apes and they get many gorillas that were rejected by their mothers from other zoos. Their first gorillas arrived in October 1965 directly from Cameroon, they were a couple called Tschamba and Mimi (this last one still at Wilhelma today) and were the parents of Mora, a female born in December 1973 that became the first gorilla to born at this zoo.
